El Malboro y el Cucú
El Malboro eta el Cucú

Two brothers and their uncle Jesús, a kind of adoptive father, meet again after five years. 24 hours including Cucú’s birthday and Malboro’s first day of freedom. The celebration of all three being back together again, the search of a love that doesn’t forget and isn’t cured, the doubt of an unsolved betrayal, which is even more painful than prison. The strange sensation of being atrocious rather than being scared, rather than having limits, of always walking on the edge, of being kings for a day and a night, until another day dawns.

Javier Patrón “Fox”
Mexico City, 1965. A graduate from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, he has worked as an assistant director (for example, on Carlos Carrera’s La mujer de Benjamín and on Jorge Fons’ El callejón de los milagros) and producer (on Ignacio Ortiz’ prizewinning Cuento de hadas para dormir cocodrilos - Bedtime Fairy Tales for Crocodiles - among others). He has written and directed the shorts: Un vagón al lado de la vía (1992), Diente de leche (1999) and La maceta (The Flowerpot, 2002). Since 1997, he has been working for Argos Comunicación making commercials, shorts and sitcoms. El Malboro y el Cucú is his first feature film.
