Successful novelist Martin Frost has just published a book when he decides to take some time off in a country house. On waking the first morning, Frost is amazed to discover a mysterious stunning woman lying next to him. Fascinated by her beauty and intelligence, Martin falls deeply in love with her, thinking that he has found the muse who will help him to write the perfect book. Who is this strange woman that knows life and work so well? Is she a real muse? Is she a figment of his imagination? Is she a ghost who has slipped into the inner life of Martin Frost?

| Newark (New Jersey), 1947. He is the author of a great many literary works, highly acclaimed by public and critics alike, starting with the three books making up his “New York Trilogy”, published between 1985 and 1987, to the more recent Travels in the Scriptorium. Winner of the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature in 2006, Auster is also a screenwriter and film director, having made Lulu on the Bridge (1998) and co-directed, with Wayne Wang, Blue in the Face (1995), in addition to having written the screenplay for Smoke (1995). He will chair the Official Jury at this year’s Festival. |
