30-year-old Claire Gautier works in an insurance company accident department. She leads a monotonous life alongside her husband, Fabrice, and her daughter, Pauline, until she meets Laurent Kessler, a vet who comes to make a query about flood damage. This is the start of a story about love and terror. Laurent is a charmer, or rather, an inveterate flirt. But things are different with Claire: most certainly due to the fact that she senses the dark side Laurent tries to conceal. Meanwhile, a man sows terror in the city on murdering several women and Claire can?t help but compare Laurent with the killer. But the stronger her suspicions become, the closer Claire feels to Laurent. Will she finally be capable of fleeing from this spiral of terror and fascination?

Anne Fontaine
French director born in 1959. In 1992, she wrote and directed Les histoires d?amour finissent mal en général, for which she won the Jean Vigo Award 1993. Later came Augustin (1994), Nettoyage à sec (Dry Cleaning, 1997), Best Screenplay at Venice and César for Most Promising Actor (Stanislas Merhar), Augustin roi du Kung-fu (1999), Comment j?ai tué mon père (2000), César for Best Actor (Michel Bouquet), and Nathalie... (2003).
