| Competing for the Altadis-New Directors Award and the Montblanc Award for New Screenwriters. |
| Set in the heart of Madrid, this is the tale of Mikel, Ana and Carlos, people searching for their place in the world, a place increasingly more distant from the one they had imagined, leaving them the only solution of starting to try and achieve it based on reality. People that fate has finally led along unexpected paths. Ana works for an NGO that helps refugees. Carlos, an exiled Cuban who earns his life illegally dealing in cigars, was a pilot in Cuba and Ana?s last boyfriend, although now they?re only friends. Just out of prison, Mikel is obsessed with the idea of finding his former cellmate. The lives of Ana, Carlos and Mikel increasingly interweave. Although they all have to deal with their own problems and take their own decisions, they all influence and help each other. These are hard times for them, but they?re fighting back. |
